DumbSocial

Privacy Policy

Last updated 2 November 2026

DumbSocial brings your Instagram, WhatsApp and Discord messages into one inbox, and shows Instagram and YouTube without Reels, Shorts and recommendations. This policy explains what we keep to do that, why, and how to have it erased.

What we collect

Your filter choices, your Instagram and YouTube sign-ins on the Following and YouTube tabs, and what you watch there stay on your iPhone and are never sent to us.

What we don't do

Who else handles it

How long we keep it

Messages and sessions are kept while the network is connected. Disconnecting a network in the app signs our server out of it. Deleting your account (Inbox → Settings → Delete account) disconnects every network and permanently erases your DumbSocial account and messages from our server.

Security

Everything between the app and our server is encrypted with HTTPS, and the server isn't connected to any other chat server. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us at once if you think something is wrong.

Children

DumbSocial isn't meant for anyone under 13, or the minimum age to use Instagram, WhatsApp or Discord where you live.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it, by writing to us. New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020 applies, and you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect.
